    Borrowing and Returning Rules

    To borrow learning resources from the Library you will need your staff or student ID card. Please see Administration officer for all the loans.

    Loan Periods:

    Students can borrow most learning resources for 1 week (7 days) and trainers for the duration of their course or for the duration of the unit of competency. A maximum of one (1) item may be borrowed at the time by students and a maximum of five (5) items maybe borrowed at once by trainers. (This excludes all compulsory text resources for the course,)

    Renew a Book:

    Learning Resources can be renewed only if they there are no lodged requests by other students/staff and cannot be renewed over the phone. Students can only renew learning resource once.

    Holds:

    Learning Resources student wishes to place a hold on can be requested at the reception services desk. Returns All learning resources must be returned to the reception at the end of the loan period (7 days maximum).

    Fines/Penalties:

    Overdue learning resources attract penalties or fines. Return all items by the date or time shown on the transaction or the due date slip. If you receive a notice indicating that the learning resource has been recalled for another borrower, the new due date will override the original due date.

    Penalty Structure

    • Lost learning resource – Student will be invoiced along with student fees and will be banned from borrowing rights.
    • Late Returns – Student will be sent remainder if learning resource has been not returned at the due time.
    • Excessive late returns – Student will be charged $45 for each week after the due date until learning resource is returned. Maximum of fee $ 250 will apply.
